Frome Farmhouse
Organic Modern
Re-design of a family home in rural Somerset.
Dating from 1850, the property was originally two cottages and having had recent extensions required a more integrated design to retain its character and flow, whilst also adding modern touches.

Colour scheme
We chose an earthy palette with a mix of vintage and modern pieces to sit comfortably alongside our client's contemporary art collection.
Country living
In order to ensure the interiors suited busy family life in the countryside, we were mindful to select practical design features and finishes throughout.

Original features
We wanted to retain original details and the many characterful elements of the house whilst bringing it forward to function effectively within modern day life.
We chose natural textures and fabrics such as linens, velvets and wool as well as comfortable furniture and a calm colour scheme to compliment the beautiful countryside setting.
Cosy spaces
The smaller rooms were not overlooked. Instead we embraced the low ceilings and used a darker colour palette to create cosy spaces to relax and watch TV in the cooler months.

Bedrooms were decorated in a calm and neutral colour palette and accessorised with rich textures and luxury fabrics such as velvet and the softest alpaca.
The result is a comfortable, welcoming family home.
Each room has its own character whilst ensuring a cohesive design throughout.
